This is a static website with no analytics, advertising or tracking. It sets no non-essential cookies, which is why you have not been shown a consent banner – there is nothing to consent to.
The short version
This website does not set analytics cookies, advertising cookies or tracking cookies. It does not use Google Analytics or any equivalent. It has no social media pixels and no third-party trackers.
That is why there is no cookie banner. Under UK law, consent is required before setting cookies that are not strictly necessary. If a site sets none, there is nothing to ask you about – and a banner asking permission for nothing would be theatre.
Most websites collect far more than they need, then present a consent banner designed to make accepting easier than declining. We would rather build something that does not need one. It also makes the site faster, which is a benefit in its own right.
What cookies actually are
Small text files a website stores on your device, readable by the site on your next visit. They have legitimate uses – remembering you are logged in, keeping items in a basket, remembering a preference – and they are also the mechanism behind cross-site tracking and advertising profiles.
UK law distinguishes between the two:

This site sets nothing in the bottom three categories.
What this site does use
- No cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking.
- No third-party scripts that would set cookies on our behalf.
- No embedded content from services that track – no embedded video players, no social media widgets, no external font services.
- Self-hosted assets. Stylesheets, images and fonts are served from this site rather than from a third-party network that would see your request.
- Server logs, which are not cookies. Like any web server, ours may record technical information such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. That is for security and operation.
If any of that changes – if we add a booking system, or a genuinely useful embedded map, or anything else that sets cookies – this page will change with it and you will be asked for consent where the law requires it.
What the tools store
Nothing. The calculators and checkers on this site run in your browser. Figures you enter are not transmitted to us, not stored, and not retained when you close the page.
If a future tool needs to remember something for your convenience – a saved calculation, for instance – that would be a functional cookie, it would require your consent, and this page would say so.

Controlling cookies generally
Even though this site sets none that require consent, it is worth knowing you can control them across all sites:
- Browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and block third-party cookies specifically – which is the category that does cross-site tracking.
- Private or incognito mode, which discards cookies when you close the window.
- Tracker blocking, built into several browsers now and available as extensions.
- Clearing site data, which removes everything a site has stored.
Blocking cookies on this site will not affect it, because it does not rely on any. On other sites it may break features that genuinely need them.

Are server logs the same as cookies?
No. Logs are records kept by the server of requests it received – standard technical information, for security and operation. Cookies are files stored on your device.
What if you add something that uses cookies?
This page will change with it, and you will be asked for consent where the law requires it. That is the commitment.
Can I block cookies anyway?
Yes, in your browser settings, and blocking them will not affect this site because it does not rely on any.
